Baby Talk - 4/12/18 - Reflections by Rhiannon

This is my birthday month and I want to give a shout out to all the spring babies. It is an awesome time of the year to celebrate your birthday!

Babies are certainly a blessing regardless of the month in which they are born, but having a baby in the spring has its advantages. Not being very pregnant in the heat of a southern summer is something to be excited about! The nice spring weather allows you and baby to get out of the house for a bit of fresh air. When I was a baby, my mom took me out for a walk every afternoon. That was not the case with my two sisters, who have January and February birthdays and were born up north. The stroller would have needed snow tires!

Emerging scientific research indicates a connection between the season of your birth and certain personality traits. Those born in the spring may enjoy the following.

You are more optimistic – This positive thinking can improve your mood and boost your immune system, as well as benefiting your heart and blood pressure.

You may be more creative – This is sure true for me! In one study, a high percentage of artists and scientists were born in late winter or spring.

You have a greater chance of becoming a leader – Babies born in the spring are more likely to become CEOs than those born in the summer. In one study, 13% of CEOS were born in March and 11% in April, compared to 6% in each of June and July.

You may be a night owl – This one is also true for me! However, the rest of my family was born in winter and we are all night owls.
