Baby Talk - Thanksgiving in 2020

I share a few Thanksgiving crafts that are recommended by some of my studio moms. These are fun and engaging, allowing you and your little one to spend some valuable holiday time together. This is also a great way to work on your toddler’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Let your creative side show!

• Paper Bag Turkey – Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving with the iconic turkey! This simple craft uses a limited number of supplies – construction paper, googly eyes, paper lunch bag, and glue. It is also added fun for your toddler to “wear” their turkey puppet on their hand. Click here for instructions!

• Pumpkin Pie – Tissue paper, cardstock, paper plate, and glue allow for the creation of a yummy pumpkin pie. One mom has her toddler create the paper pie while she is baking Thanksgiving day’s actual pumpkin pie. Click here for instructions!

• Corn Cob Painting – Expose your child to texture painting during this crafting activity. Using only ears of corn, various colors of craft paints, a foam brush, and paper, your toddler creates multicolored textured paintings. • Leaf Painting – This fun craft involves a bit of nature! Have your toddler help you gather some beautifully colored fall leaves. Arrange them onto a piece of paper, following your toddler’s lead on leaf placement. Once taped in place, the creativity begins! Paint the page, let it dry, and then remove the leaves to reveal a masterpiece! Click here for instructions!

• Fun Pumpkins – Download the free pumpkin template and cut out various pumpkin pieces. Let toddler glue the sections together, complete with eyes! Following directions and identifying colors are a bonus to this fun craft. Click here for instructions!
