Welcome back to Talking Tails!
Have you heard of CBD oil? Do you use it? I have high levels of anxiety and CBD oil has been so helpful. Let me tell you a little bit about it.
First, I do not get “high” on CBD oil. The CBD oil is the nonpsychoactive ingredient in the cannabis plant. Secondly, it is important to use a pet-specific product to assure the appropriate concentration of oil and ingredients.
CBD oil can benefit dogs just as much as it does humans, since it has anti-inflammatory and anti-pain properties. My anxiety used to make me inconsolable during thunderstorms, and fireworks just put me over the edge. I was not able to relax, sleep, or eat, often causing me to vomit. It was just not a healthy situation for me. I now take bacon-flavored CBD oil – yummy – and it has turned me into a whole new dog! I am still aware of thunder and fireworks, and, of course, I have to bark to warn everyone, but I am able to relax and not have the continuous barking and anxiety.
My dear friend, Buster, had arthritis, making it difficult to jump off the couch and showing some stiffness upon getting up from naps. Mom started Buster on CBD oil and he had immediate relief from his arthritis. Over time, he was even able to stop taking his joint supplement.
Let me warn you, all CBD is not created equal. I recommend that you look for a product’s certificate of analysis and other evidence of third-party testing. These certificates assure that the CBD is pesticide and heavy metal-free and that the actual quality is as advertised.
We use Green Compass for our CBD. They run a North Carolina farm, which organically produces products and adheres to purity and ethical standards. The company is certified, producing a certificate of authentication for each batch of CBD oil. Links below to the products we use.
