Welcome back to Talking Tails!
As the festive spirit continues to build, I know it will soon be time for holiday cookies. Yummy, yum! You know by now that I am not talking about human cookies…although we do beg for them and occasionally get a bite! There are recipes that your human can make just for you, so you can have a whole cookie!
I am sharing a few recipes that my Mom has made for me and a couple that we are going to try for the first time this year. For me, these cookies are an extra special treat and a labor of love, as this is a very busy time for my Mom at the studio.
Dog candy canes are not only delicious, but are very realistic with red twists and peppermint flavoring. This recipe does call for the dough to be refrigerated for two hours before baking, so cool your jets for a bit! Chew on a rawhide or your favorite toy while you are waiting…you could always take a nap!

Gingerbread cookies really put me in the holiday mood. These cookies are really cute if your Mom decorates them with yogurt drops or drizzled carob; remember, no chocolate for us.

Snickerdoodles are a rolled cookie, so your Mom can use all different types of cookie cutters. We have wreaths, trees, stars, and a new cutter that my Mom buys each year. I think she bought a reindeer cookie cutter for this year that she is trying to hide from me!

Apple Mint cookies not only taste great, but give us fresh breath. Some of you have been told that we have bad dog breath, you know who you are! A few of these cookies and you can lick anyone!

Nutty Bacon cookies – yes, I kept the best for last! With peanut butter and bacon, I am wild for these cookies! I salivate as they bake…y-u-m-m-y.
