Talking Tails - National Pet Day

Pets are amazing! Regardless of the form they take – dog, cat, bird, fish, horse, rabbit, snake, hamster, guinea pig…the list goes on – we just capture the hearts of our humans. Colleen Paige, the founder of National Pet Day and animal welfare advocate, agrees and selected April 11 to spotlight the joy that pets bring to humans. I would add the joy that humans bring to pets should be part of that celebration!

We help our humans stay healthy – reducing their stress level, decreasing blood pressure, eliminating loneliness. Our humans help us by caring for our basic needs and providing us with love. This is definitely a win-win situation. Celebrate in whatever way is appropriate for you (depending on the type of animal you are). My Mom and I took a special walk and she bought me a super doggie treat. That was the perfect way for us to celebrate!
