It is so exciting to welcome newborns and their families to my studio. I know how important newborn portraits are to families, and create my sessions to capture the beauty, sweetness, and love that surround a baby. Personalizing your newborn portraits makes them unique and truly yours. Some of the most memorable images I have created come from these creative sessions.
Planning your unique newborn session is so much fun. Here are a few things to consider for personalizing your newborn’s images.
- Consider your hobbies and interests. Do you play a musical instrument, love to travel, or have a green thumb? Including items that represent who you are creates an amazing personal image.
- Incorporate your jobs. A doctor’s stethoscope, an aviator’s hat, a teacher’s book, or an American flag puts a little bit of you into your newborn’s images.
- Don’t forget about sports. Are you a Bulldog or Gamecocks fan? How about the Panthers or Falcons? No matter what your sport or team, incorporating the logo, mascot, or sport memorabilia into the set is adorable.
- Include your alma mater. Be proud and show your spirit! Integrating your college’s colors, fraternity or sorority logo, or other special memories creates an image that belongs to only you!
- Take the time of year into consideration. Was your baby born around a holiday or during your favorite season? Including a small pumpkin, Christmas ornament, shamrock, or a similar item highlights the specific timeframe in which your baby was born.
- Remember family. Including a family heirloom, a special blanket made by great-grandma, dad’s teddy bear when he was a baby, or other similar family memories creates a truly unique image.
Let’s create beautiful newborn images together!
